The Morning Routine of One

Sunrise. The start of a new day. New hopes and dreams. Sleep lingers and you look out the window. The birds chirp loudly further jarring you awake and you stumble out of bed. You drag yourself into the shower and sigh quietly resting your head on the wall for a few moments letting the warm water wash over and soothe your aching body. After those few moments pondering your night, trying to remember to last dream you had, you wash up and get out. Down the stairs you stumble, yawning. Splash cold water on your face, you mix a protein shake. Stirring it, you stare out the window lost in thought. Five minutes have gone by without your active notice. You look down seemingly hypnotized before your phone buzzes warning you that you really need to leave. You guzzle down your shake and sigh wandering out the door. Walking through the streets, you yawn looking around as you listen to music accompanying your walk. You really wish you were back in bed and look wistfully behind you. No, you need to keep moving. Sighing you walk some more. Why oh why can’t you just enjoy the fresh air? You muse quietly. Startled you sigh, getting your ride to work. Silence fills the void as you lose concentration and start thinking of your day. Your blog you started yesterday needs another few updates. At least it will give you something to do. You muse to yourself, a slight smile showing. Today is going to be a good day.
